Our waterers help keep our plants thriving! As a waterer you will be responsible for the upkeep and organization of our hoses and watering wands, and of course we want you to water the plants too. This job is outdoors, so dressing appropriately for the days weather is a must. And no need for your gym membership anymore, helping water our 4 acres of plants will whip you into shape in no time! We want plant savvy people who can handle multitasking and working hard out in the elements to join our crew.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Some knowledge of plants preferred
• A desire to learn is a must!
• A passion to learn about and care for plants!
• Must have outstanding customer service skills
• Must be physically fit and able to comfortably and repeatedly lift 50 lbs
• Able to work standing, bending, moving, or lifting 100% of the day
• Must be a team player and have great communication skills
• Must be able to communicate efficiently on a 2 way radio
• Must have strong self-starting motivation
• Merchandise knowledge in the categories of outdoor nursery and accessories preferred
• Be able to pull 100 feet of garden hose for entire shift
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Stand trees and shrubs up before watering
• Be aware of climate changes affecting plant water needs
• Accurately mark schedule at the end of each day
• Know plant area names as indicated on schedule: i.e. containerized, balled and burlap, evergreen, northwest, behind the barn
• Be aware of the condition of pots and plants
• Learn the layout of the nursery and be able to accurately direct customers
• Direct customers to sales staff
• Be plant savvy!
• Know pot sizes and bedding plant container sizes
• Keep hoses and watering wands organized and well cared for
• Know what a plant should look like when healthy

Hourly based pay- Starting at $14 per hour
