Classification of Roses
Floribunda: Medium sized flowers mostly borne in
clusters, more compact in habit, medium length stems.
Grandiflora: Large flowers borne in clusters, taller in
habit, individual stems are suitable for cutting.
Hybrid Musk: Vigorous, plants produce dense,
well-branched medium-sized shrub. Roses borne in clusters of
varying size.
Hybrid Rugosa: Exceptionally hardy, vigorous, usually
upright compact plants, Most are recurrent bloomers.
Hybrid Tea: Large flowers generally borne one per stem,
medium to tall in habit, long cutting stems.
Polyantha: Small flowers borne in very large clusters,
compact in habit, with medium-short stems.
Shrub: Free-blooming plants broadly varying in size and
form, usually good disease resistance and hardiness. Most are
grown on their own root.
English: Repeat bloomer with form and fragrance of old
garden roses.
Groundcover: Low mounding habit with continuous bloom.
